Chile, Concepcion

Nine months after graduating from High School I chose to serve a voluntary ecclesiastical mission for my church; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This decision was completely voluntary, it would be financed by me and my family and I had no choice as to where I would serve.

As a missionary I was expected to leave all personal affairs behind, including school, work, and family. One month after my nineteenth birthday I flew to Concepcion, an urban region of southern Chile. For the next two years my focus was wholly on my ecclesiastical responsibilities as a missionary. To be a missionary I postponed college, left my family, and sold many “valuable” possessions to help finance my mission. After a few months in Chile I mastered Spanish, learned the currency, and adapted in almost every aspect to my new way of life. I had many valuable experiences teaching, listening, serving, and loving the people of South America. This addendum's purpose is to inform the reader of the daily routines, schedules, and rules I experienced during my two years as a missionary in Concepcion Chile.
